2.00 tablespoon olive oil
0.25 lb ground pork
0.50 lb ground beef
0.50 cup chopped onion
1.00 tablespoon chopped garlic
3.00 cup chopped tomatoes
1.00 can tomato paste -; (6 oz)
1.00 teaspoon sugar
1.00 teaspoon dried oregano
1.00 teaspoon dried basil
1 salt; to taste
1 freshly-ground black pepper; to taste
Heat oil in a large pot, add meat and brown it, breaking it up with a
spoon until crumbly. Add onions and cook 5 minutes. Add garlic,
tomatoes and tomato paste, and cook 5 minutes. Add sugar and herbs,
and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cook 20 minutes. This
recipe yields about 4 cups of sauce.
