2 tablespoons softened butter
4 slices white bread
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Spread butter onto both sides of each slice of bread, and cut into cubes. Place them in a bag or bowl, and pour the cinnamon sugar over them. Shake or stir to coat. Arrange the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, then stir and continue baking for 10 more minutes, until toasted.
4 tablespoons butter
1 clove garlic, minced
3 (3/4 inch thick) slices French bread, cut into cubes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large saute pan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in garlic; cook and stir for 1 minute. Add bread cubes, and toss to coat. Spread on a baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until crisp and dry. Check frequently to prevent burning. Cool.
4 tablespoons olive oil
1-1 1/2 teaspoon of chilli sauce
1 tablespoon chilli flakes
4 slices thick white bread
(add more chilli to suit taste)
Preheat oven to 220C
Remove crusts from bread and cut into small cubes. Warm oil in shallow oven proof dish. Add chilli sauce and flakes to oil, mix WELL. Add bread to mixture and coat all the cubes.
Transfer to baking sheet and cook in the oven for 10-15 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.
Lovely on top of salads or as a garnish for Bombay potatoes. Can also be used as the last filling in stuffed peppers.
