Ingredients
2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon cooking soda
1 vanilla
1 teaspoon ginger powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon clove
250 gr Margarine
200 gr bitter chocolate in pieces
1 ½ cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
4 eggs
1/3 cup cognac
For icing
150 gr bitter chocolate in pieces
½ cup cream
1 tablespoon cognac
Preparation
Mix together the flour, cocoa, baking, soda, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and clove. Melt the chocolate with the butter, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and add the sugar, the milk, the cognac, the eggs and finally the flour mix.
Put the mix in a buttered baking pan and you bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 hour. Check with a knife if the cake its cooked in the center and proportionally you adapt the time of baking. When its ready remove it from the oven, and let it cool on a grill.
For icing melt the chocolate add the cream and mix well. Finally you add and the cognac, mix and after 3 min spread the cake. Let icing stabilize and then you can cut the cake.
